MAIA notices when your device goes offline. A banner appears at the bottom of the rehearsal saying "You're offline. Nothing is lost — we'll reconnect automatically." While it is showing, the Send button holds your message instead of sending it, so nothing is lost or sent twice. Your typing stays where it is.
When your connection comes back, MAIA checks it with a real request before saying anything — so the banner stays up for a moment after the network returns. That is deliberate: hotel and airport wifi often report "connected" while blocking everything, and we would rather wait than tell you it worked when it hasn't. Once the check succeeds, the banner disappears and your rehearsal continues.
If you close the tab or step away
Your progress is saved after every completed step. Close the tab, shut the laptop, come back tomorrow — sign in, open your Dashboard, and your rehearsal will be there at the step you left.
One thing to know: while the tab is closed, MAIA is not working on your rehearsal in the background. It waits where you left it. When you reopen it from your Dashboard, it picks up from that step.
How long you have
Sessions are kept for 24 hours after your last activity, up to a maximum of 7 days from when the session started. Coming back and doing something restarts the 24 hours. The 7-day maximum is absolute — after that the session and everything in it is permanently deleted, and it cannot be recovered.
Download your Decision Report and Visual Intelligence Package before then. We do not keep copies.
If the app says it lost connection
You will see a card offering Resume rehearsal. Click it. It reloads your session from our servers and puts you back at your current step. If it doesn't work the first time it will say so rather than sit silently — try once more, then check whether other sites load.
If you are still stuck, email [email protected] with your account email and roughly when it happened.
